02 May PLH Group Joins the Stand Down to Prevent Falls
Falls in construction are currently the leading cause of injuries and fatalities in the industry, so OSHA has joined forces with organizations like NIOSH (National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health) and CPWR (Center for Construction Research and Training) to raise awareness with three preventive steps: PLAN. PROVIDE. TRAIN.
This cornerstone message encourages employers and workers alike to PLAN ahead to get the job done safely, PROVIDE the right equipment and TRAIN everyone to use the equipment safely.
Videos, training materials, campaign posters and fact sheets can be accessed at OSHA’s ‘Stop Falls Stand Down’ resource page and are also available in Spanish. An event calendar and certificate of participation are at your fingertips while free hardhat stickers and infographics are a click away.
The site offers suggestions on how to prepare for a successful stand down with an events page for industry stakeholders planning a regional event and ways to share your own prevent falls stand-down story.
All of these ready-made OSHA resources provide an opportunity for infrastructure construction companies, like PLH Group to sync up their own safety program with the weeklong campaign.
