PLH Group Utility Emergency Response Teams Respond to Tropical Storm Isaias
Date: August 8, 2020

Over 250 employees from PLH Group companies Power Line Services, Edison Power Constructors, TESSCO Energy, and Sun Electric are working around the clock to restore power across New Jersey after the state was hit hard by Tropical Storm Isaias earlier this week. Working collaboratively, these PLH Group employees are deployed in 16-hour shifts, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week until power is restored.
Tropical Storm Isaias is one of the strongest storms to hit New Jersey in recent memory. Meteorologists confirmed two tornadoes and are investigating a third that reportedly touched down as a result of the storm’s strong winds, which reached over 100 mph. Over 1 million customers were without power, but PLH Group crews are working diligently and safely to repair lines and restore service.
Lines of utility trucks filled with linemen, equipment, and supplies traveled from across the country to assist PSE&G and First Energy Corp. in restoring electricity to the hundreds of thousands of New Jersey residents currently without power. A staging ground for power restoration operations was set up at Farmingdale State College on Long Island. PLH Group would like to extend their sincerest thanks to the utility emergency response crews working overtime to restore power and extend our deepest sympathies to the residents of New Jersey who are dealing with the loss of property and power.
