PLH Group Emphasizes PREVENT® System During SAFE + SOUND Week
Date: September 21, 2018

PLH Group Company Edison Power Constructors (shown above) crews participate in OSHA’s SAFE + SOUND Week.
PLH Group has pipeline and powerline construction companies throughout North America, but they joined together in the name of safety for OSHA’s SAFE + SOUND Week August 13-19.
TESSCO Energy, Edison Power Constructors, Sun Electric, Powerline Services, Air2 and PLH Group all participated in the nationwide event to promote the value of safety and health programs in the infrastructure construction industry. Each PLH Group pipeline and powerline construction entity has a proactive safety program aligning with the PLH PREVENT® System, the core of the PLH safety program designed to integrate safe work practices into daily job tasks. PLH’s PREVENT® System echoes the mission of SAFE + SOUND Week – to identify and manage jobsite hazards before injury occurs.

“Safe + Sound Week is a great tool to engage employees in discussions concerning important safety issues and raise awareness through company-wide events,” said Elsie Bentley, Vice President of PLH Safety, Health & Environment.
A different safety topic was selected for every day of SAFE + SOUND Week with preparatory information and activities posted on the Safety & Environmental blog and social media.
PLH GROUP SAFE + SOUND WEEK EVENTS
MONDAY – Core Values were re-emphasized companywide.
TUESDAY – How to recognize and reduce nation-wide opioid misuse.
WEDNESDAY – Fall protection.
THURSDAY– Stop Work Obligation Expectation. Everyone has the obligation stop an unsafe act without fear of reprisal.
FRIDAY– Fatigue in the workplace and prevention.

After the SAFE + SOUND activities drew to a close, PLH Group entities continue their daily commitment to safety as a core value ‘fundamental to the way we work and live’ every week of the year.
