Legacy of Safety: PLH Group Makes Recognition for Excellence #1 Priority

From the inception, PLH Group has applied a simple yet powerful philosophy—pursue safety and protection first and foremost. By applying consistency to small decisions around safety every day, their philosophy has had tremendous impact over time. Seeds sown long ago have grown to be the main feature that dominates their landscape—excellence in safety.
In January this year, PLH Group celebrated the many companies and subsidiaries which demonstrated such commendable care in the welfare of their crews in the field. During the three-day companywide management meeting, an awards ceremony recognized the various winners in each energy construction category who went above and beyond the expected levels of careful execution in their jobs. There was even an award given for valor on the job—electric linemen who saved a stranger from certain death in a vehicle fire.
It seemed fitting that the keynote speaker at the awards ceremony was John Foley—a former lead solo pilot for the Blue Angels and a Sloan Fellow at Stanford School of Business who is also ‘fearless’ and inured to inspired action. He spoke to the gathering and delivered a message which mirrored the standards of excellence expected at PLH Group.
The centerpiece of the PLH Group safety program is the PREVENT® System, a collection of tools designed to integrate safe construction practices into every step of the task. This proprietary program puts visual and practical teaching tools into the hands of every employee companywide using the latest technology.
