Staying Safe + Sound Together
Date: August 8, 2021
OSHA’s Safe + Sound Week isn’t just a safety topic for PLH Group’s power line and pipeline companies. It has become part of their safety culture. And this year, the organization is expanding the way it recognizes the event, taking it beyond its business units.
“If one thing is obvious from the COVID-19 global pandemic, it’s that life is meant to be lived together. We can apply this concept both personally at home and professionally at the workplace or job site. So, this year, we are not only joining all of our PLH Group business units together to observe OSHA’s annual Safe + Sound Week, but also coordinating with industry partners,” said PLH Group’s Safety, Health, and Environmental Vice President Elsie Bently. “By expanding the way we recognize health and safety, we are not only learning from each other, but taking a stance that we are continuously looking out for one another.”
Safe and Sound Week is a nationwide Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) event to recognize the importance of a strong workplace safety culture. Though it may be celebrated differently by companies in diverse industries throughout the country, the mission is to take a comprehensive look at company safety programs, with the goal of improving workplace health and safety efforts.

OSHA offers information about how to get involved, as well as recommendations to plan and promote the event.
Elsie added, “PLH Group has always recognized Safe + Sound Week together by welcoming open communication throughout our organizations, encouraging the involvement and participation of all employees.”
