PLH Group Continues Support of Prestigious Non-Profit Supporting Military Warriors
Date: January 10, 2022

PLH Group and WWS have a long-standing relationship that has resulted in no-cost health coaching care and education for thousands of our nation’s warriors.
PLH Group is committed. It is committed to safe, quality, energy-focused construction. It is committed to the communities it serves. It is committed to its employees. And it is committed to advancing the missions of its non-profit partners. For the ninth straight year, PLH Group provided financial support to sustain the life-changing work of Warrior Wellness Solutions, a prestigious, award-winning non-profit that provides functional medicine health coaching to our nation’s heroes and their families.
Warrior Wellness Solutions (WWS) was born through the experience and self-exploration efforts of United States Marines who were navigating the lasting impacts and realities of combat-related injuries. For former Marine Elijah Sacra, these injuries caused chronic sciatic nerve, neck, and lower back pain, as well as tendinitis in both arms. This pain was only exasperated by surgery that resulted in more intense discomfort. Without anywhere to turn, Elijah took matters into his own hands.
“I was a physical trainer who didn’t understand how my lifestyle was impacting my injuries. I always chased more and more exercise to repair myself,” said Elijah. “But then I started with nutrition. And now I’ve changed my mindset and lifestyle to find relief through functional medicine. I have achieved mental, physical, and spiritual health through a number of tactics, including sleep, brain health, environmental conditions, detoxification, fitness, and hydration.”
Now with 40+ health certifications, Elijah and his wife, Clarissa Kussin, a naturopathic doctor and functional medicine health coach, lead Warrior Wellness Solutions, which has aided thousands of service-disabled veterans and wounded, ill, or injured (WII) active military men and women.

PLH Group consistently partners with organizations – like WWS – that leave a lasting impact on our nation’s communities.
“Our average client comes to us on 10-15 medications. After completing our six-month functional medicine health coaching program, their average number of medications has been reduced to between 0-5 medications.”
The typical process for a WWS client begins with an initial consultation. Then, the intensive, six-month collaborative program begins. Throughout this time, WWS partners with clients through weekly check-ins and bi-weekly coaching appointments.
“I tell them, ‘I’m going to be with you not only as a coach, but also as your second brain. I’ll be holding your hand for the next six months,’” said Elijah.
After the first six months, WWS gives clients the opportunity to independently put their skills into practice with quarterly check-ins for the following 12 months.
“But we don’t leave them at that point,” said Elijah. “In fact, we don’t leave them – ever.”
Even after clients have graduated from the program, health coaches are always available for support and to answer questions.
WWS serves its clients at no cost. This is all thanks to grant funding, private donations, and continued corporate giving from organizations like PLH Group.
The money that PLH Group has donated over the last nine years has funded client travel and lodging expenses, neurocognitive testing, equipment, operations and compliance software systems, and medicinal supplements.
PLH Group Chief Administration Officer Lacy Kiser said, “Not only are we a proud employer of our nation’s military men and women, but we recognize the needs that many of these heroes have after experiencing mental and physical traumas from their time serving our country. I am so proud to be part of a company that not only values our nation’s military community, but also puts our commitment into action by financially supporting Warrior Wellness Solutions year after year.”
“Once a client works with us, they are working with us for life. We would never leave a client in need,” said Elijah. “It’s gratifying and reassuring to know that our partnership with PLH Group is the same. PLH Group’s continued support enables us to expand our offerings, scope, and reach, continually advancing the care we provide our nation’s heroes.”
